~Falling For You~ An Italy x Reader One Shot

It was nearly impossible not to fall for the clumsy, cheerful Italian. Sure, he was childish sometimes, but they say a child's love is the most pure. I suppose you could say, instead of swooping (name) off her feet, he nearly tripped her out from under them. The first time she met Feliciano, she was walking down her favorite path at the park. (Name) was watching as the changing leaves slowly drifted from their spot on the trees and flew away with the wind. She sighed at the signal that autumn was drawing to an end. It ment winter was coming, and that was (name's) least favorite month. She'd turned and continued down the path when out of nowhere, a young auburn haired man came flying down the opposite direction. It looked like he wasn't going to stop so she closed her eyes and braced herself for the impact. The man's foot caught hers and they both went down, she on top of him.
"Ouch.." she heard from underneath her. (Name) scrambled off the poor man and she looked down to see who she'd fallen on. He sat up and held his head for a minute. (Name) got a good look at him then, he had short auburn hair with an odd curl that sprung out from the left side of his head, then he opened his fawn colored eyes. They looked at her in surprise as he jumped up on his feet. He held out a hand to her as he assisted her off the ground.
"I'm so sorry, bella. I wasn't watching where I was going. Hey, you're really pretty, bella." He smirked. "Would you like to get some pasta with me?"
(Name) laughed lightly. "I don't even know your name."
"I'm Feliciano Vargas. You can call me Feli."
"I'm (f/n) (l/n). And I'd be delighted to get some pasta with you," she held her hand out to him to shake hands. Obviously, he misunderstood her because he just took it and ran down the road with her trailing behind him, by force may I add. After that, their friendship blossomed. (Name) longed to spend every free moment she had with Feli and he, the same. She spent a lot of time with him and his friends, Ludwig and Kiku. One night all four of them decided to go bowling. During the middle, of her turn, Feli ran up to the clerk and talked with him for a second. Then, all the lights dimmed and all the cosmic lights began to swirl around the floor. Feli ran over to (name) and grabbed her hand. "(Name)," he said. "Let's dance."
She giggled as she let Feli take the lead. All of a sudden, a song began to play on the loudspeaker. As it played, (name) became lost in Feli's eyes. It fit the moment impeccably.

Feli sang the last line in sync with the song. It was in that moment, (name) realized that Feli had planned all of this and her heart began to pound against her chest as she now knew what was going to happen. As the music faded, he dipped her down low, when he brought her back up close to him, he whispered softly, "(Name), I know we barely know each other.. But I'm falling for you. I want to know if you'd like to be my girlfriend?"
(Name) was stunned. She'd never seen Feli this serious before. It was so unlike his goofy, cheerful self. But.. she knew she'd wanted more from the beginning.
"I'd want nothing more," she replied.
He leaned in and quickly pecked her on the cheek and then ran over to his friends yelling, "Guess what guys? I got a girlfriend!"

It'd been exactly three years ago today. (Name) sat on the couch in the living room of the apartment she now shared with her boyfriend, Feli. She looked at the present she had just finished wrapping. She sighed, "Perfection," as she set it on the table next to her. She looked at her phone. 2:57pm. Feli would be home at exactly 3:15 like always. Feli had said he had something planned for tonight and (name) wanted to look her best. She hurried upstairs and soaked in the warm bath as she waited for her love. As she got out of the tub, she began to do her makeup and hair when she spotted Feli hiding in the doorway. He smirked.
"(Name), for what we have planned, I don't want you to get all fancy for me. It wouldn't be comfortable," he winked. "Oh and do me a favor. Bring the most memorable item of us that you have."
(Name) tried to protest but he left without another word. She sighed and decided to just go along with what he asked. When she went back into their bedroom, she found that Feli had already picked out an outfit for her and laid it on their bed.
"He really has all of this planned out, doesn't he?" she thought to herself. There was a note beside it that read: "Meet me at our spot at 5pm and don't forget your item! Ti amo. Feli <3"
(Name) looked at the clock and saw that it was 4:30pm already. She threw the clothes on and grabbed the plush teddy bear on her nightstand. It was the first thing Feli ever gave her. He had won it out of a claw machine the night at the bowling alley. She rushed to her car and sped to "their spot" aka the park where they first met.

(Name) spotted Feli at the entrance to the park. She parked her car next to his and went over to kiss her love. Feli welcomed her warmly and led her to the exact spot where fate had "tripped" them. (Name) gasped at the sight. He'd set out a candlelight dinner for the two of them right under the tree she had been admiring that day. The leaves still continued to fall and she began to reminisce of the day three years ago. She hadn't noticed that Feli had brought a small radio with him until it began playing a song, their song. Feli held out his hand to her, "May I dance with you?" he asked innocently.
(Name) was speechless so she just nodded slightly and took Feli's hand. They began to dance slowly as the cold, autumn wind began to swirl around them, taking up loose leaves with it. It seemed almost magical, like fate had this all planned out. As the last lines of the song were sung, Feli dipped her the same as he had the night he confessed his love for her. It was like deja vu all over again. Feli brought her back up and held her in his arms as they stood there, listening to the soft howl of the wind. (Name) hoped he'd never let go, this moment was just to perfect. Much to her displeasure, he did, and he gestured to the table. "We should eat before it gets too cold," he whispered. (Name) nodded and he went over to pull out her chair for her.

They proceeded to eat with much enjoyment. (Name) giggled as Feli tried his hardest to feed her pasta but it kept falling off his fork. By the time they'd finished, the moon had begun to peer out from the horizon and the cold chill of twilight set in. As they kept warm in each other's arms, (name) remembered the items she'd brought. "Feli," she asked.
"Yes, bella."
"Why did you want me to bring my most memorable item of us?"
Feli got up and grabbed a small cardboard box from under the table. "Well, I wanted to make a time capule of us. So, we'd put what we valued most in the box, bury it in the ground and then dig it up so many years later to remind us of the love we share."
"Aww Feli," she cooed. "That's an adorable idea."
Feli beamed as he grabbed a shovel from behind the tree and began digging a small, deep hole while (name) filled the box with the items. When he'd finished, Feli looked at the box as though he was in deep thought.
"What is it?" (Name) asked.
"Something's missing.." he snapped his fingers. "I know! A picture."
"A picture? Of what?"
Feli looked (name) deep into her eyes and pulled a small black box from his pocket. "A picture.. Of our engagement night."
He got down on one knee, and (Name) gasped as her eyes began to well up with teardrops.
"(Name), these three years have been amazing. Better than pasta even!" She laughed as his serious side had to give way to his goofy side.
"And, I want many more years to come for us," he continued opening the box. "So, bella. Will you become my wife?"
(Name) wiped her eyes as she cried, "Yes, Feli! I would want nothing more!" Repeating what she had said the night three years ago.
Feli slipped the ring on her finger and kissed her softly, one hand stroking her hair, the other, coddling her face. When they broke apart, (name's) eyes were glued to Feli's fawn colored ones. She finally broke the silence.
"Feli, I'm glad you tripped me that day. Fate must have had something in store for us." And as if on cue, the wind caressed her face to confirm what she'd said was true.
